New York, New York! Day One

Right... here i am, and its time to bore u all with my daily escapades in the big apple. I arrived at my boy J-Ronins house at 2pm after a scenic trip through the asshole of NYC which is the route from JFK to Flatbush via public transport. As soon as i get here im told i have ten minutes to get ready to get to the Sav Killz video shoot in Clinton hills, Brooklyn. After a quick email to my nearest and dearest we headed out.... big shouts to Js Dad for the lift and the short history lesson on flatbush and crown heights!

First stop, The barber shop on Myrtle Ave where we linked up with the crew, for $10 i kinda wished i didnt give myself the budget line up at home before i left!

This is what happens when u get excited in the hot weather and buy an icy of a street vendor, inevitably u end up spilling it on your crisp white top and have to scrub it out with some kinda nasty american soda style to drink. All that happened was i ended up with a big wet patch on my top and a bottle of drink that tasted of fizzy piss!

Next stop... The block where the king moved 2 for 5s, if u dont know who im talking about then you either need to some hip hop history ... OR you just need go and watch the Juicy video. So i got my tourist on and made my self look stupid by taking pics of a grocery store in the middle of the hood....

..... Not that anyone would have robbed us for my camera when u have dudes the size of J-Arch (right) with you. This dude is one of the funniest people ive ever met. He literally does NOT stop Hollaing at girls, or as he refers to them as "cupcakes". Hardest workin man in the business he takes NO breaks!

So on we move to the next location, a basketball court in Bed Stuy where the big man Poison Pen told me Biggie used to throw street parties. Be on the lookout for his new mixtape, mixed by myself and hosted by J-Ronin

So heres the final crew shot before we decided to head of and get some food before getting ready to head up town....

..... and a good thing we did cause it started to piss down!... so off we headed to some chicken spot on fulton st which to be honest, put morleys (my favourate chicken spot ever!.... yes its better than sams!) to shame!

Big shouts to Js boy Copa for the attempted to lift to the bronx, however when his car started smoking we realised that it was probably gonna be the subway for us... still, at least J-Arch had time to break down the science of how to rull a blunt NYC style...

So after cutting our losses, paying Copa for petrol money that we didnt get back as his car could no longer move, we hoped on the D train and headed to the South Bronx for a tribute party for Fleet Militant....

where we hooked up with this dude!.. who i only saw a week before in London but it was good to get an advanced copy of the album... which is banging by the way!.. go cop it when it comes out on tuesday. 

Also got the chance to meet with M1 from Dead Prez, really humble guy and he put on a dope show, big shouts to him.

Also big shouts to Hassan Salaam who tore it down. After she show we hit up some local domican cafe for food... wow!... spanish chicken is the lick! after some long nerdy hip hop talks with some of the coolest people ive met in a while, come 2am and we decided to take that long subway ride back to brooklyn. How i am still awake, i dont know!.. so this is day one in NYC, all this and i havnt even slept yet... it should be a hell of a week!
