What have we learnt from Porn?

Perhaps that you shouldn't order it on tax payers money... As the whole country is likely to find out, especially if your wife's Jacqui Smith...

Jacqui Smith has apparently racked up a £157,000 in expenses claims ridiculous in itself they're obviously spending too much in a climate of recession you'd think you'd try and keep extravagant expenses on the down low, we all know what happened to Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette... 'Let them eat Porn'

Recently I've personally hit a dry spell exemplified in that I now take great value in the silver coins in my purse. Gone are the days when I'd drop the silvers and disregard them- real talk, these are broke times! and in light of that fact, to be honest whether I were rich tings or not I would still not be willing to help fund anyone's porn habit or T.V. and Internet connection... buy porn with your own money you penis! As if paying for Oyster Cards, Rent and Bills aint enough and the fact we're going through massive recession now I have to think about money to buy Porn for people who are certainly more privileged than the majority of us... ahhhh NAH!

Thing that suprises me is how dense is he... how has a man of his age not learnt to hide porn... I thought men instinctively knew how to hide porn like they just instinctively knew the how to of self love, alie?

“I am really sorry for any embarrassment I have caused Jacqui. I can fully understand why people might be angry and offended by this," he said “Quite obviously a claim should never have been made for these films, and as you know that money is being paid back.” - Richard Timney

He understands why we "MIGHT" be angry... Waste... can't conceal porn, spending too much money he also has untrustworthy eyes.

Senor Kaos: Girls Rock Too

THANK YOU!!

Now I'm not and never have been the burn your bra type. If anything, I'm more for the way of doing things, where men and women all had a place in society and played their position. But that's not the case. And it aint easy out here.

I finally started to get attention for my music. But I get more attention (especially from men, and even moreso from men in the industry) when I put on a skirt and heels. I dont feel like doing that all the time. I reckon if I didnt get the WRONG kind of attention when I did, I would do it more but some people dont know how to act. Watching too much porn. Sex aint the only thing about me. And for f*** sake, STOP tryna turn me into what your mind has stereotyped me as. I'm female, not a prostitute.

There, I said it.

And I can almost guarantee I would have gotten a lot more outta this industry had I chosen to use my body, as a opposed to my talent. Its really sad. And that's an everyday battle kids. EVERY. DAY.

That's why I sighed a breath of relief when I saw this, and wont lie, I did kinda well up cos how many times you hear this? See this? Not one booty shakin', hot-pant wearin', hip-swingin', horny-looking, promise-of-sex having hoochy mama in sight. Only a speech of recognition and respect for all the other great things we can be, and we can do. Over a killa beat.

Senor Kaos, I salute you. Girls Rock Too.

... Shoot was BIG lots of dancing amongst the crazed kids who had been on it since 10am! Think I'm getting old... I found myself actually uttering the saying "in my day" and suggesting to someone (swigging wine at 9am) that he probably should take it easy. Everyone was dressed to rave to the max... It was a technicolour dream legging fest, skins esque with most kitted out in their hoddies, cardigans, vans and bright t shirts with accesories to boot! A dresscode that would make the heart of american apparel swell with pride.

I being a video shoot virgin reeeeaaalllyy didn't fully appreciate the concept "you'll be here the whole day" with the massive load of sitting and people rushing around you as they prep group sences or idividual cut aways-(video shoot speak lol) then suddenly there are45mins left and everyones pushed for time and find yourself in the midst of the final scenes. I wont lie I was TIRED tryna rave on camera is hard work kids! managed to pull a the last bit of rave out of me and stayed for the lil shoobs at the end... I think I drank too much... all in the name of art.

B's Tuesday:

LA's Suite for Ma Dukes and David Axelrod

I saw this on dazed and confused.... B+ and Eric Cole are 2 of my favourite photographers, both of them dabble in music and have set up a few event in the name of Dilla...so thought u might be slightly interested!!!

Photobucket

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. As well as the tiger. Put simply, this monumental concert series is a landmark in Los Angeles music history. The Timeless series of events, sponsored by VTech, is indebted to icons of music - composers and arrangers that have inspired the world’s most celebrated beatmakers and producers in hip hop culture. The cosmic vibes of David Axelrod, Mulatu Astatke, Arthur Verocai and J Dilla with a 40-plus orchestra. On the February 22nd in honour of Dilla and his Moms Ma Dukes, Common, De La Soul’s Posdnous, Talib Kweli, Dilla’s brother Illa J and J*Davey joined composers Miguel Atwood-Ferguson and Carlos Nino for a very special celebration in front of a sold out Los Angeles crowd. Check out the Shepard Fairey print. Hip hop photography and film legends B+ and Eric Coleman (under their Mochilla arm) looked after the event and will be putting their almighty stamp on LA with two further events – Brazilian jazz composer Arthur Verocai with Madlib (March 15th) and the first ever live performance from the legend that is David Axelrod (April 5th).

Dazed Digital: These are some pretty epic events.
B+: Yeah, I mean we sat here and wondered how we could make a series of events that would be like a dream for us. Literally, what is your dream show type-of-thing? And of course we never thought that it would be possible to actually do it, but then here comes the biggest home phone company in the world - Vtech - and here we are. Axelrod, Verocai, Mulatu are all huge inspirations for us and Dilla was one of us.

DD: Timeless is about the links between the classic composers and the hip hop producers of today.
B+: Its music writ large. Madlib and Dilla all think of music from the perspective of combinations of sounds. It’s like taking a step back and instead of thinking about one instrument you start thinking about combinations, or voicings they call them. Yes it is done through a drum machine as opposed to a piece of music paper but it’s the same thinking. Axe and Verocai and all of them use the old methods but their vision is timeless.

DD: Can you explain more about A Suite for Ma Dukes?
Miguel Atwood-Ferguson: The concert is a celebration of J Dilla's life, what he loved and what inspired him. It is a show of support, appreciation and love for his incredible mother Maureen Yancey, whom I recently had the sincere pleasure of meeting and sitting down with. It is very exciting for everyone, there is a real crisp freshness pervading everything on all levels. This is celebrating the infinite possibilities always before us.

DD: How did you translate Dilla’s beats and rhythms through an orchestra?
MA-F: There are no challenges when we're just having fun! The biggest thing that has freed me is that I am not solely concerned with trying to recreate anything. So, for this concert, the first half doesn't even have drum set. There are four percussionists! But not a drum set. It comes back to the main point which is, we are continuing a dialogue that Dilla was continuing himself. To further answer the question, in every Dilla production, there are all these different elements in it right? All these different elements that he employs to express something. So, in an orchestra, similarly there are different elements. I employ these to express what I feel.

DD: With Axelrod - is this really first time he's performing in this way in LA?
B+: Yup. It really is the first time his music has been performed live here. They were studio records and they never did that well, so there was never a need to have them be live. Obviously sampling changed all that. It’s gonna be a historic homecoming. I think the city will be giving him an award too. Crazy. He deserves it.

un-holy matrimony

As of 2pm on Tuesday the Third of March I shall no longer be a single man. I'm entering a Civil Union with Ricky Lee McLennan, the first step we are taking on our trek in the direction of World domination. British Rile is upon us my friends, and I can only hope that you are ready for the shit the bed savagery that is coming your way.

Wedding List:

George Foreman grill
A set of Waterford Crystal whisky glasses
2 pairs of Heelys, both size 10
A trolley dash at Bargain Booze
An original boxed game of Guess Who
A vintage leather motorcycle jacket
A donation to the bring Ricky back fund
A toaster (4 slice)
A tub of Patum Peperium Gentleman's Relish
One whisker from Amy Winehouse's chin

I understand that in these difficult times of financial instability the average person's wallet is in a tight spot. But you folk are far more than mediocre chumps.

So dig deep
