I know it's a week late, but here's my monthly roundup for May 2010.

Once again, massive thanks to everyone who's been downloading the podcasts. I've decided to switch things up by not having a vocal introduction anymore...Now you can comfortably rock this on your iPod without having to hear my monotone voice, haha!

Easy all, hope you all had a good Bank Holiday weekend... I know we're already at the start of May, but here's April's Podcast... Better late than never, right?

This month's mix has more of an emphasis on the Hip Hop/Wonky/Experimental vibe, with brand new heat from the likes of Big Boi, Devonwho, Samiyam, Pac Div, J. Cole, Ghostface, Amp Live, 8 Ball & MJG, as well as recent music from Dibiase & T.I.

DJ Cable Vs. Joker & Ginz Vs. Three 6 Mafia (Thugstep Quick Hitter)

It's been a while wince I posted another Thugstep blend. Massive thanks to everyone who's been supporting them, whether it's playing them at raves, on radio, or on you iPods... It means a lot.

This was originally done as a mashup for my BBC 1Xtra Guest Mix for Mistajam back in February. I figured that it worked so well, I though I'd make it into a proper blend. I've called it a quick hitter as it's only the first verse and chorus; the reason being that the rest of the acapella doesn't fit so well with the whole tune. Also, like myself, most DJs like to mix quickly, so it's always nice to have something short and sweet with a clean intro and outro.

It's about time I hit you with another Thugstep blend. You may recognise this one from my January Podcast; imo it worked so well, that I decided to make a full blend out of it. Fully tagged, encoded at 320kbps...Vocals kick in after 32 bars.

DJ Cable x Rock The Dub x Ego Thieves "Fuck Thugstep Vol. 1"

It’s about time I hit you with another mixtape. Rock The Dub has been pivotal in both pushing the Thugstep sound, and inspiring DJs such as myself to get involved, so it was only right that we teamed up to put out a mix for the end of 2009. Things got even better when Jenai over at Ego Thieves got involved (props for the artwork!).

The end result? A heavy mix of Dubstep/Grime/Crunk, with some exclusive refixes, as well as the ones you know and love...

Whether you love it or hate it, THUGSTEP is here to stay. Forgive me if I sound big headed, but I’ve seen the damage that it can do in rave; and with numerous DJs across the London scene and the UK supporting my blends, it’s great to see people embrace this type of sound. I'm sure DJ Nappy would be proud.

DJ Cable "Mixin It Up" for Discobelle.net

Shouts to Discobelle for giving me the opportunity to do a mix for their Mixin' It Up series, which has been graced by loads of other great DJs such as Bok Bok, Dave Nada and Drop The Lime, to name a few...If you don't know about Discobelle, they're one of the internet's leading dance music blogs, and have been highly influential when it comes to breaking new music.

JOker & Ginz Vs. Lil Scrappy & Young Buck "Re-Up For Money" (Cable THUGSTEP Blend)

Joker is killing it right now (matter of fact everyone within the Bristol scene is doing a lot), and with his recent remix of Simian Mobile Disco, plus an album in the pipeline, 2010 looks like it could be his year.

I'd already put this Lil Scrappy acapella over Coki's "Shattered" a while back (last year, in fact), but thought I'd update it by putting over Joker & Ginz' filthy anthem "Re-Up". Plus, I think this one pisses over the original blend I put together...I've also added an extra 8 bar intro for the DJs...

Shouts to everyone who's been supporting the THUGSTEP blends, there's more to come soon! In the meantime, enjoy this little re-fix.

DJ Cable Vs. Tempa T & Rusko "Mr. Muscle's Hype"

It's been a while since I hit you with a blend, or a mixtape for that matter...But have no fear, here's something to keep you occupied before "The Mash Down Vol. 3" drops next month.

Anyhow, whilst sorting out the tracklisting for the forthcoming mix, I came up with this as an idea for a transition between these two tracks. I made a DIY acapella of Tempa T's (aka Tempz) Grime anthem "Next Hype" (seeing as the studio acapella only got leaked to a couple of DJs) which came out near perfect, and used part of it over Rusko's banger "Mr. Muscle"...In my opinion, it worked so well that I decided to make a full Thugstep blend out of it.

Dub in ya face

Decided to get my arse in gear and arrange what festivals I'm going to in order to get the best out of my summer music wise and holiday wise... New York being a pretty damn good start I've decided that the only logical way is up, that is if god loves me and wants my 21st year to be one without tantrums and sporadic bursts of extreme violence from lack of entertainment... however being the degenerated hobo I appear to be these last few months it's proved fucking hard to plan any events as I've been ridiculously stank with no money in the bank. Trust, it is not as cool as the swizz beats song, just a bum like existence.

In a bid to make monies I've churned out a couple of articles... going to make that magazine I now write for give me money for them so I can fund my trip to Budapest for Sziget in August but for the month of June, it's all about dub... In the spirit of festival fun and the fact I'm not always an antisocial internet freak I'm inviting everyone. If you're reading this consider it an official invite... I forsee MESSYYY times, falling about proclaiming my love for all with emphasis on some sort of profound understanding I'll share with someone over a mutual appreciation for a dirty bassline, a sudden adoration for everything and an increased interest in the feel of different fabrics.

This is the second Dub festival and will be on Friday 12th June with "over 30 of Dubsteps Finest" and only in London Bridge for all you lazy mofos. Mmm beats, hoodies and Shy FX, I'm obviously there. Dubstep Festival is THE ONE.

DJ Cable Vs. Skream & Mike Jones "Still Tippin On The Request Line"

So for 2009, I'll be putting blends/mashups/refixes together on a fairly regular basis for your listening pleasure, or to use during DJ sets, or on mixshows (just as long as Cable gets credit!). I've already leaked a couple, which I'll post up later this week.

In the meantime, here's a little Dubstep/Thugstep mashup between Skream's "Midnight Request Line" & Mike Jones' "Still Tippin". If you're wondering what "Thugstep" is, and how it originated, it was brought to life by DJ Nappy
