All that Glitters is..... Goldie??
So Goldie does art, really??
Goldie
The Kids Are All Riot
Maverik Showroom,
London
E2 7DP
Starts 13 April 2009
Until 26 April 2009
Pardon moi for being a tad on the sceptical side... Just seems to be more of an extravagant effort to be more trendy as opposed to sending out a serious message through works of art. Some of the set pieces are being described as humorous and exhibit degrees of insight, I'm struggling to say and 'depth' so perhaps it's all just a matter of perception.
One of the paintings is a self portrait entitled 'Fuck Off'...inspired...:| its apparently of him giving the two fingered salute whilst holding a spray can in the other hand... genius. This is Goldie's second show (he had a first.... then they gave him a second!?) it's called 'Kids Are All Riot' which he says is "a prophecy for the Asbo generation written with spray paint and attitude". WTF, oh do shut up... "a prophecy for the Asbo generation" what two fingered salutes and spray cans hardly a prophecy more of just stating the obvious, rather clichéd if you ask me ... reminds me of the first episode of peep show where marks bombarded by those kids that call him 'Peado' and 'clean shirt'... children like that must be stopped!
Putting my obvious animosity towards crib midgets aside there's more to see in the collection and the price tags right up there as you can imagine... kind of makes it less 'urban' and smell a little more corporate. However I am intrigued non the less. The guardian have described the work as thoughtfully composed so I'm sure it's worth a gander...maybe...I'm trying to keep an open mind people... thou shalt not be judgy.

In my opinion he's in the same catergory as INSA -Graf made commercially viable.
I'm planning to attend the official opening night on the 18th as I understand there will be free wine.
there are other artist but I don't care for their work.

Ass! Ass! Tit'ies! Tit'ies!
who loves Naked Girls!? I know I do but don't be fooled for I do not bat for the other team, but rather marvel at the female form for it's powers to bring lesser mortals(men)to their knees. Now that's a position I like a man in.....WOW... I'm rife with smut!
I'll bring the tone back up now-So my sis and I journeyed on one of those red chariots of filth to the flawless gallery down New Bond Street to see some INSA. Don't be fooled for it is also a fabulous jewellers. I did not allow my eyes to grace too much of the merchandise for fear or frivolous purchasing (yeah right)!
My sis wasn't much into it(too many crotch views) for me I was in canvassed heaven. I love his commercial viability he's a G, now all I need to do is work out how to make money from sitting on my arse..... hmmmmmm...I'll have to get back to you on that one...
Flawless gallery- 105 New Bond Street W1S 1SX
The exhibition is open 7 days a week and finishes on the 31st July-best of all its my favourite price FREE
